Leakage tests can be performed on a duct system to estimate the amount of conditioned air that would leak out of the duct system during normal operation. With all intentional openings in the duct system sealed a calibrated fan is used to pressurize the duct system. The airflow through the calibrated fan required to maintain the prescribed test pressure is defined as the measured duct leakage.
