Attendance
Regular and successive attendance is expected of all students enrolled in CalCERTS courses. CalCERTS staff does not counsel with any student whenever absences are affecting the student’s learning and retention of the course materials. A student may be dismissed from a course if there are two consecutive failed exams. Tardiness
Arrival to class on time is expected of all students enrolled in CalCERTS courses. Leave of Absence
Upon enrollment, each student should maintain a consistent record of attendance in his or her assigned training schedule. However, in some specific situations, it may be necessary to take a leave of absence from the training schedule.
It is the policy of CalCERTS to grant a leave of absence only in extreme situations where the student is unable to focus on the assigned training (i.e. illness, family death, etc.). In order to be granted a leave of absence, the student must make a written request to the school. A leave of absence should not exceed one month. Drop-Out Policy
It is CalCERTS wish that all students enrolled in a course will complete that course and benefit from the information and experience they acquired. Students are encouraged to find solutions to obstacles that he or she may be facing and ensure continued attendance in the course until complete. CalCERTS will contact, by telephone and by email, any student who has dropped out of the program in order to assess the circumstances behind this decision. Cancellation, Withdrawal and Refund Policy
Student’s Right To Cancel or Withdraw
Students have the right to cancel or withdraw and obtain a refund of charges paid through attendance at the first class session, or the seventh day after enrollment, whichever is later. Cancellation or Withdrawal notices must be submitted in writing by email to the Training Manager at training@calcerts.com. For more information, contact the Training Manager at (916) 985-3400 x2015.
Refund Policy
The institution shall refund 100 % of the amount paid, less a non-refundable registration fee, if notice of cancellation is made through attendance at the first class session or by the seventh day after the enrollment, whichever is later.
Refund Example 1:

The refund policy for students who have completed less than 60 % of the course of instruction shall be due a pro rata refund. In this example below, the student has paid for the entire Instruction. The student attends 8 hours of 16 hours instruction and decides to withdraw.

If the student has attended 60% or more of the course of instruction, the student will not be entitled to a refund.

The institution shall pay refunds within 45 days of a student’s cancellation or withdrawal.
Third Party Payers
If tuition is paid by a third party, the refund goes to the third party and follows the above refund policy.
