BPI Building Analyst (BA) Certification Exams

The BPI Building Analyst Certification is the nation’s most widely recognized energy auditor certification, and will give you the tools to analyze and correct any deficient features in older and modern homes. With the BPI Building Analyst certification, you will learn how to perform comprehensive, whole-home assessments, identify problems at their root cause, and prescribe and prioritize solutions based on building science. The Building Analyst certification verifies your knowledge, skills and abilities needed to conduct comprehensive building performance audits, including assessing whole-building ventilation, measuring airflow, combustion safety and testing/data collection. The written exam can be proctored remotely or taken in person in conjunction with your in-person field exam at our BPI Test Center located in Folsom, CA.

BPI Multi-Family Analyst (MFBA) Certification Exams

The BPI Multifamily Building Analyst (MFBA) conducts energy audits and performs overall building performance evaluations of multifamily buildings. These building professionals examine the relationship between the building’s various systems and apply knowledge and skills to complete comprehensive evaluations of existing buildings to make prioritized recommendations that improve occupant health, safety, and comfort as well as the building’s energy efficiency and durability. The written and online simulated field exam can be proctored remotely or taken in person at our BPI Test Center located in Folsom, CA.


BPI Multi-Family Analyst (MFBA) Certification Exams

BPI Healthy Home Evaluator (HHE) Certification Exam

From identifying asthma triggers and risk of lead poisoning to testing for CO and other health hazards, tremendous opportunity exists to incorporate a healthy home analysis into home performance assessments. The Healthy Home Evaluator (HHE) certification builds on the BPI Building Analyst (BA), Multifamily Building Analyst, Energy Auditor (EA), or Quality Control Inspector (QCI) certifications. The HHE was developed in partnership with the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI). A Healthy Home Evaluator assesses home-based environmental health and safety hazards and provides a prioritized list of recommendations to address those hazards. The online written exam can be proctored remotely or taken in person at our BPI Test Center located in Folsom, CA.

BPI Envelope Professional (ENV) Certification Exams

By obtaining the BPI Envelope Professional Certification, you prove that you have the skills to optimize and verify the installation, operation, maintenance, and performance of building envelope systems, and are able to improve their interaction with other building systems. As an Envelope Professional, you will be knowledgeable enough to prescribe improvements to tighten the building envelope (shell), stop uncontrolled air leakage, and optimize comfort, durability, and HVAC performance. The written exam can be proctored remotely or taken in person in conjunction with your in-person field exam at our BPI Test Center located in Folsom, CA.


BPI Envelope Professional (ENV) Certification Exams

BPI Energy Auditor (EA) Certification Exams

The Home Energy Professional (HEP) Energy Auditor certification is offered by BPI, and is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and its National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The HEP Energy Auditor certification demonstrates advanced competency through rigorous online and field exams, and work experience prerequisites. Once certified, you will be able to evaluate the energy efficiency, health, and safety of a home. You will gain in-depth knowledge of how to use diagnostic equipment and modeling software to identify areas for energy savings, produce an audit report, and develop a prioritized scope of work for your customer. The written exam can be proctored remotely or taken in person in conjunction with your in-person field exam at our BPI Test Center located in Folsom, CA.


BPI Energy Auditor (EA) Certification Exams

BPI Quality Control (QCI) Certification Exam

The Home Energy Professional (HEP) Quality Control Inspector certification is offered by BPI and is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and its National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). By earning the HEP Quality Control Inspector certification, you prove that you can verify the compliance of retrofit work performed based on work plans and standards, conduct audits and inspections using diagnostic equipment, and can develop reports that specify corrective actions to achieve whole house performance. Students must currently hold an active BPI Energy Auditor Certification (EA), to qualify for this certification exam. The written exam can be proctored remotely or taken in person at our BPI Test Center located in Folsom, CA.

CalCERTS Training Center

CalCERTS, Inc. has been an approved BPI Test Center since 2009. Today, the CalCERTS Training Center is a leading BPI Test Center in California offering in person, and remote exam proctoring for BPI Certification exams. The CalCERTS Training Center is located in Folsom, CA, and features a single story, 1440 square foot residential home. This unique facility is equipped with electricity, running water, kitchen appliances, a natural drafty water heater, and three different types of HVAC systems (gas split, package unit, and a small duct high velocity system). The test home is set up with dedicated controls and dampers to control the amount of duct leakage, building infiltration rate, and worst-case depressurization.
